Mars Material Handler in Kansas City, Missouri
Shift/Hours: The shift for this position has not yet been determined. It will either be a 12 hour day shift or a 12 hour night shift.
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Material Handler is responsible for supplying the packaging team with the pack materials requiredand other basic production duties as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Operate a forklift in safe manner
Reading and verifying date codes
Monitor Robotic palletizer for proper operation and be able to address minor interventions to support production process.
Supplying packaging with pack materials to support the production process
Recycling packaging waste to the balers and transferring waste the compactor area.
Weekly sanitation activities
Transacting all moves in SAP & Red Prairie to maintain accurate inventories and recording of production
Maintaining a safe and clean work environment
Active participation in the Safety Programs
Ability to work in a self-directed manner with a positive attitude.
Demonstrate a food safety quality culture in actions, words and spirit.
General packaging and other productions duties as assigned
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
High school diploma or equivalent
Basic math and measuring skills
Basic reading and demonstrated ability to understand and execute work directives communicated in English
General organization skills
Manual dexterity
Attention to detail
Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment
Familiarity with industrial environment
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be able to lift 40 lbs.
Must be able to work under stressful conditions such as heat, cold, high, and/or confined spaces and have full mobility to climb stairs and ladders
