Volvo Group Warranty Administrator in Kansas City, Missouri

Purpose/Description

Assist external customers to minimize downtime and breakdown repair expenses.

Core Responsibilities

  • Answer phone calls from external customers who have experienced a mechanical breakdown / failure to their truck

  • Review transaction details of customers purchase to determine potential 3rd-party or in-house warranty coverage eligibility and advise customer accordingly

  • Assist customers in breakdown resolution by coordinating repairs with repair shops including parts and labor review and negotiation

  • Ensure successful "handoff" of customer to 3rd-party warranty providers as necessary

  • Enter and maintain breakdown claims in proprietary Warranty Manager claims system

Skills & Knowledge

  • In-depth mechanical working knowledge of all makes of heavy-duty trucks, diesel engines and exhaust aftertreatment system components (DPF, SCR, EGR, DEF, etc…) and operations

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills along with strong typing skills

  • General PC aptitude including Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency

  • Bilingual in English / Spanish preferred

Minimum Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • 5 years of experience working in parts, service or warranty in the heavy-duty truck / diesel engine field

  • Experience answering phones in a call-center environment a plus but not required
