Thomas Industrial Coatings is an Equal Opportunity Employer looking to fill the position of a Diesel Mechanic. Reporting to the Shop Foreman and/ or Field Foreman/ Superintendent, the Diesel Mechanic operates, maintains, and repairs machine equipment while complying with all safety, quality, quantity and housekeeping standards. The Diesel Mechanic's main focus will be operating and maintaining equipment at project locations.


Operating and maintaining reclaiming machines for long periods of time

Position requires a high level of mechanical aptitude

Ability to troubleshoot and monitor machines

Repairing and assembling machines or mechanical components according to specified requirements

Make necessary adjustments to equipment to maintain maximum production and quality

Performs equipment safety and maintenance checks

Maintain equipment aesthetics

Coordinates machine actions with other activities

Ability to work in the elements

Basic electrical system knowledge

Knowledgeable on hydraulic and pneumatic driven equipment

Willing to travel

Ability to complete relevant documentation

Follow written and verbal instructions

Follow production instructions of supervisor to ensure quality

Prepare raw materials to be loaded into the machine

Diesel or reclaiming machine experience is a plus

Ability to complete other tasks, as necessary


Physical Ability- Physically stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl for long periods, use arms and hands to reach for, handle, and manipulate objects, lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing 75 pounds, climb up and down ladders and scaffolds; Able to work productively in heat index exposure at or about 112 dregrees

Working Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, and PowerPoint), iPad/ iPhone-based applications, as well as proprietary software required

Requires overall knowledge of reactors, instruments, dryers, centrifuges, filters, pumps, forklifts, steam baths, temperature recorders, scales, banding machines, standard test equipment, and plant processes

OSHA 30 certification

Associates degree from an accredited college or university preferred and/ or

A certification or degree from an accredited trade school and/ or

At least two years experience in diesel, pneumatic, hydraulic and general automotive repair

Valid driver's license, CDL preferred
