Applicants who have A.S.E. "Master Medium/Heavy Truck Technician" certification through the National Institute of Automotive Service Excellence will be paid at a minimum annual salary of $62,634.

Nature of Work

Incumbents in this position supervise automotive and/or heavy equipment repair, overhaul and maintenance functions and personnel. Duties include inspecting and providing direction to subordinate technicians making repairs to all components of heavy vehicles, systems, and equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

Seven years of experience diagnosing, repairing and maintaining heavy trucks (over 25,000 lb. GVW) and/or construction equipment, automobiles, and landscaping equipment. OR an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Employees must furnish their own set of hand tools.

Must have computer skills using Microsoft Word, Excel or other computer software relating to fleets.

License: Must possess and maintain a valid Missouri Commercial Driver's License (Class A or B) while employed by the City of St. Louis. Must be able to present Commercial Driver’s License (Class A or B) at the time of the Oral Interview. Please note type of license, number, class, and expiration date on the Employment Application.

Documentation of qualifying educational achievement and A.S.E. certifications must be submitted with the Employment Application or at the time of the Oral Interview.
