The Import Transportation Administrator will assist in carrier selection while focused on cost control and continuous improvement within the department. This person will also participate in a cross-functional team consisting of, but not limited to, purchasing, customer service, finance, and trade compliance.
Assist in daily communication with carriers including articulating booking instructions as required
Maintain updated transportation costs in the AS400 and Routing Guide
Assist in investigating, negotiating, and processing claims related to transportation
Assist in day to day transportation issues that arise and work with the customer to resolve issues
Assist in working with the drayage companies and branches to help drive down transportation costs
Collaboratively work with accounts payable to audit freight payments and carrier billing accuracy
Maintain AS400 distribution and logistics modules including but not limited to, daily shipment processing
High School diploma or equivalent, Bachelor's degree is preferred
Import and/or International Business experience or education highly preferred
Minimum 2 years Customer Service experience in a call center environment and/or Logistics/Supply Chain Management
Must possess excellent communication skills with proficient PC skills to include Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
Must be detail oriented, a self starter, and able to work with minimal supervision
Diplomatic problem solver with the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
AS400 experience is highly preferred
